We went through Cyclone Alfred and it was full-on: trees down everywhere across the Tweed Coast, hoop pines snapped in half, camphor laurels out of the ground, palms through fences. We learned a lot about triage doing it, and that experience is why we can move quickly without taking shortcuts on safety.
Storm-damaged trees are unpredictable. Branches under tension and split trunks move when you don’t expect them to, which is exactly why this isn’t a DIY job. Keep everyone clear, stay 10 metres from any powerlines, take photos for your insurer, and let us make it safe. How fast can you respond after a storm?
Fast. If a tree is on your house, across the driveway, or leaning on powerlines, that's a same-day hazard call when it's safe to access. A big branch down in the backyard that isn't going anywhere can wait a day or two while we deal with the urgent stuff first. We went through Cyclone Alfred and we know how to triage.
What should I do before you arrive?
Keep everyone well clear, move cars out from under the tree if it's safe to, and keep pets inside. Stay at least 10 metres away from any powerlines. Don't try to deal with a storm-damaged tree yourself: branches under tension and split trunks move when you least expect it. Take photos for your insurer before anything gets moved.
Will my insurance cover storm tree removal?
