Murwillumbah is the Tweed Valley: heavy rainfall, rich river-flat soil, and some of the biggest trees we touch. Old camphor laurels the size of houses, heritage figs, rainforest remnants, and the legacy of the floods. Different country, different work.
Murwillumbah is big-tree country. The valley’s deep soil and rain grow camphor laurels and figs to a serious size, and a lot of our work here is the large, staged removal: a crane or careful rigging to bring down a tree that’s simply too big and too close to fell in one piece. The floods left a legacy too, with trees that are stressed, leaning or undermined.
It’s also the part of the shire with the most heritage and significant-register trees, including listed figs and the Canary Island palms in town. Those can’t be touched without specific approval, and getting that wrong is serious. We know which trees are on the register, identify whether yours is protected, and coordinate an AQF Level 5 arborist report through our partner when the job needs one.
