Tree removal & pruning in Coolangatta

Beachside tree work for Coolangatta, Kirra and Greenmount, under City of Gold Coast rules, including the cocos-palm pathway that lets us remove cocos with no council application.

Coolangatta sits right on the border, but it's Queensland, which actually works in your favour. Under Gold Coast rules, cocos palms and a handful of other pest species can come out without a council application, as long as an AQF Level 3 arborist documents the ID. Casey holds that ticket.

The first thing worth knowing in Coolangatta is the border. Cross into Tweed Heads and you’re under NSW rules; stay this side and you’re under City of Gold Coast. That matters most for cocos palms, which are everywhere here. On the Gold Coast side, cocos (and umbrella tree, cadaghi, slash pine and coral tree) are a listed pest species that we can remove without a council application, provided an AQF Level 3 arborist identifies and documents it. Casey holds AQF Level 3, so it’s a one-visit job: ID, removal, paperwork.

The rest is classic border-beachside work. Salt and wind off Kirra and Greenmount, a lot of units where the trees are common property (those always need an application, lodged by the body corporate), and the steady run of holiday-let tidy-ups. We turn up on time and leave it clean, which is the whole point in a short-stay town.

Reviews from across the coast

Casey and his crew were very professional. They were on time and left the property cleaner than they found it. All members of his team made it a point to greet me and my wife. I would recommend them over and over. Casey is a calm professional business owner and runs an amazing crew.

It was an absolute pleasure to deal with Casey from the onset. He made the very difficult job of removing a large Hoop Pine from our property both safe, cost effective and most importantly possible. Bowie, as the climber, methodically worked to lower section by section the limbs and trunk within a very cramped and access impaired area on our property. Nothing was a problem and we really appreciated their honest approach to our job. The job area was left spotless and they worked tirelessly to achieve an amazing result. Don't waste your time getting other quotes, these guys are the absolute best!

Had Casey and the boys at my joint to chop up and mulch a huge African tulip tree that went over during Alfred. Could not be happier. They were on time to the minute, set up quickly, we had a quick chat to double check a couple of details and then off they went. The work was done with minimal impact to the location and raked, swept and blowered, spotless. The quality of work and the genuinely nice guys make them easy to recommend. Do it. Thanks again lads.

Asked about Coolangatta

Do I need a council application to remove a cocos palm here?

On the Coolangatta side (City of Gold Coast), no, provided an AQF Level 3 arborist documents the species under self-assessable outcome SO5. Casey holds AQF Level 3, so we do the identification and the removal in the one visit. The same palm on the Tweed Heads side (NSW) doesn't have an equivalent pest-species exemption, which is the border catch we sort out first.
