Most people call us because a tree has gone from being part of the garden to being something they think about every time the wind picks up. Our job is to take that off your plate, safely, and leave the place tidier than we found it.
There are two ways a tree comes down. If there’s room to drop it in one piece, we fell it. If it’s near the house, the fence, the pool or the neighbour’s place, we climb it and take it down in controlled sections, lowering each piece on ropes so nothing lands where it shouldn’t. The second way is slower and it’s most of what we do on the Tweed Coast, because the good blocks up here are tight.
Big hardwoods like blackbutt and the local gums are heavy and unforgiving, and hoop pines are tall, straight and deceptively weighty. They get the sectional treatment and the right rigging every time. That’s the difference between an arborist and a bloke with a saw: knowing how the tree will move before it moves.

Straight answers
The honest answer is, it depends. Every tree is different. Most standard residential removals across Tweed Heads, Kingscliff, Cabarita and Bilambil Heights land somewhere between a few hundred dollars for a small one and several thousand for a big gum over the house. Once you're into crane work in a tight backyard, it can go higher again.
What pushes the price is size, access, what's underneath the tree, and how we have to get it down. If someone quotes you under a thousand bucks for a decent-sized removal, ask them about their insurance. We do free site visits and put a real number in writing, with photos. It's not the chainsaw. It's the diagnosis. I'm AQF Level 3 qualified in arboriculture, which means tree biology, risk assessment, rigging and safe removal, not just knowing how to start a saw. Anyone can buy a ute and call themselves a tree lopper. There's no qualification for that.
The other thing that matters is insurance. We carry $20M in public liability. When you're dropping timber near houses and powerlines, that's what stands between you and a bill if something goes wrong.

Before any chainsaw work, we tell you straight whether your job likely needs approval, which council it falls under, and what they'll want to see. We don't lodge the application for you (that's the owner's job), but we write the scope to match what council expects so the process is as fast as it can be.
