Tree removal & pruning in Casuarina

Careful tree work for the Casuarina and Salt estates, modern coastal homes, narrow lots, body corporate gardens and the planted street trees that come with a master-planned suburb.

Casuarina is a different beast to the older coastal towns: master-planned, modern, and tightly landscaped. The trees are often planted to an estate scheme, the lots are narrow, and access for a truck and chipper takes planning. That's our kind of job.

The Casuarina jobs almost always come down to access. The blocks are narrow, the houses are close together, and there’s rarely room to drop anything, so it’s climb-and-rig or bring in machinery. We plan the drop zones and the carry-out path before we start, which is the difference between a clean job and a damaged fence.

The other thing to watch here is the estate side. Some complexes and the master-planned areas have landscape plans on file, which means a tree that looks self-assessable can still need a council application. We sort out which category your tree falls into so you’re not caught out, and we coordinate the body corporate side where the tree is on common property.

Casuarina is young enough that a lot of its trees were planted at the same time, and they’re now hitting the size the original landscaping never really allowed for. On these narrow blocks that shows up fast: roots lifting driveways and paths, canopies crowding the eaves and the neighbour’s fence, and feature plantings that have simply outgrown the spot they went into. We do the formative and reduction pruning that keeps a maturing estate tree in scale with the block, and where one has gone too far we take it out cleanly and talk through a species that suits the position and the coast.

Reviews from across the coast

Casey and his crew were very professional. They were on time and left the property cleaner than they found it. All members of his team made it a point to greet me and my wife. I would recommend them over and over. Casey is a calm professional business owner and runs an amazing crew.

It was an absolute pleasure to deal with Casey from the onset. He made the very difficult job of removing a large Hoop Pine from our property both safe, cost effective and most importantly possible. Bowie, as the climber, methodically worked to lower section by section the limbs and trunk within a very cramped and access impaired area on our property. Nothing was a problem and we really appreciated their honest approach to our job. The job area was left spotless and they worked tirelessly to achieve an amazing result. Don't waste your time getting other quotes, these guys are the absolute best!

Had Casey and the boys at my joint to chop up and mulch a huge African tulip tree that went over during Alfred. Could not be happier. They were on time to the minute, set up quickly, we had a quick chat to double check a couple of details and then off they went. The work was done with minimal impact to the location and raked, swept and blowered, spotless. The quality of work and the genuinely nice guys make them easy to recommend. Do it. Thanks again lads.

Asked about Casuarina

My Casuarina estate has an approved landscape plan, does that affect removing a tree?

Yes, it can. Where a complex has a landscape plan on file with council, a tree that would otherwise meet a self-assessable exemption can still need an application. We check the plan and the council category before quoting, and write the scope to match.

Do the salt and wind off the beach damage trees and palms in Casuarina?

They do. This close to the coast the prevailing salt-laden wind burns foliage, snaps weak limbs and stresses planted species that were never meant for an exposed front. Cocos palms and the planted street trees cop it the worst. We can prune for wind load, clear dead and hanging fronds, and tell you honestly when a stressed tree is better replaced than patched up.
